Thursday, October 22, 2009 I WISH YOU WERE THERE Walking today,I saw the samac trees, their green leaves tipped with vermilion. I wish you were there to see them bright as parrots amidst the branches. A little chipmunk scrurried through the leaves; he paused,his stripped body upright. I wish you were there to feed him bread crumbs with me. A bit into I wild grape today; it sweet juices exploded in my mouth. I wish you were there to share a grape-flavoured kiss. I stretched out on the forests floor, glazing up at the clear sapphire sky. I wish you were there, your loving eyes reflecting back as blue. |
